SSR Lilia Vanrouge - General's Armor Voice Lines
General Lilia does not have a vignette
Tumblr media
When Summoned: I am General Lilia Vanrouge of the Land of Briar. Whosoever may feel determined enough, come at me!
Summon Line: The Land of Briar is a place under the dominion of us creatures of the night. If you don't want to find yourself in a sticky situation, you better lay low, human.
Groooovy!!: Call me anything you wish. That is, anything other than "old man."
Home: Time to go to work.
Swap Looks: We're off, men.
Home Idle 1: I was an orphan and Maleficia-sama took me in under her care. She's so nice? Not one bit! If she snaps, she'll strike you down with her lightening.
Home Idle 2: I will protect the Land of Briar. That is my sworn duty. That was Raverne's... my late dearest friend's request of me.
Home Idle 3: Silver and Sebek's movements are strangely familiar. Who could possibly have been their instructor?
Home Idle - Login: I can't say I'm that interested in having the title of General, but... I would not be able to stand to work for someone weaker than myself. As I've taken on this role, I'll fulfill the duty that comes with it.
Home Idle - Groovy: It would be nice if the next successor to the throne would be more mild mannered... But no, that would be too much to ask of one of the Draconia bloodline.
Home Tap 1: Who'd ever go to Night Raven College? What could these barely born chicks even hope to teach me?
Home Tap 2: I can't stand these Silver Owl folk. They lay waste to the forest, pollute the water, and just do as they please... We'll cast them out.
Home Tap 3: Baur of the Royal Guard is a staunch fellow from Sunset Savanna. I'd say his loud volume, stubbornness, and constant nagging are some of his faults, however.
Home Tap 4: What, you think my mask is frightening? That's how most humans seem to react to it. I thought it was quite stylish, too.
Home Tap 5: If you need something of me, speak quickly. ...I look like someone you know? So what? Don't stop and call out to me for something that trivial.
Home Tap - Groovy: Maleanor-sama was quite the spitfire back in her younger days. I wouldn't be able to count how many times I'd have to accompany her as she snuck out of the castle to romp around in the forest.
Duo: [LILIA]: Sebek, whatever you do, don't get in my way. [SEBEK]: I'll cover you, Lilia-sama!

The Knight of Dawn’s and Silver’s Hair Color
(+ Possibly passing down of blessings through the generations)
I think it’s interesting to think about but we technically don’t, and I don’t believe we’ll ever know, Silver’s true hair color.
Because we don’t know The Knight of Dawn’s true hair color (possibly) nor Princess Leia’s (yet, maybe).
When Silver’s hair color changed from blond to silver, Lilia stated that the reason why Silver had blond hair could have been because The Knight of Dawn was blessed by the diurnal faeries to have “hair as golden as sunlight” so either KOD’s hair was changed from his original hair color to blond because of the blessing or his hair got an extra sheen to it to make his blond hair more lustrous.
So KOD might have had a different hair color than what we had seen, and Silver could have had that hair color or Leah’s hair color when he was born.
Because Silver was either born with or, possibly when the diurnal faes put him to sleep or even at birth, their the blessings might have given him blond hair.
Lilia’s words kind of also implies that blessing/hair color change might be passed down when having kids too.
Because if we think about it, if KOD hair color did change and Silver was born with blond hair, that would mean the blessing/hair color change was passed down.
Tumblr media
(Translation by @/081314)
Which, technically, opens up a whole new door doesn’t it? And with it a bunch of feelings. Because that means that blessings might be passed to your children and maybe the power that KOD had was also passed down to Silver hence this would explain KOD’s demise at the humans’ hands…which parallels to a Meleanor theory where it was assumed that maybe Meleanor was weaker because she gave magic/recent birth to Malleus when she had the egg so she didn’t fight in full power. Imagine both KOD and Melanor dying after giving their magic to their sons?😭😭
(It would also explain why Silver is as strong as he is too)
For Silver, if that’s the case, it also means that it’s possible for his future children to have silver hair when they are born. So Lilia’s blessing could also be passed down as well.
But what if I also add on this? What if KOD’s hair was originally silver? And it was changed because of the fairies’ blessing?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If you look at KOD’s hair tips, it’s silver. Baby Silver has silver tips too. It is only with Lilia’s blessing did it turn fully silver.
Tumblr media
So can you imagine? If KOD’s hair was originally silver -> turned blonde by the fairies’ blessing -> and then when Lilia blessed Silver that hair color turned back to KOD’s original color?
Wouldn’t that be sweet then? Wouldn’t it add more meaning to Lilia’s Blessing? To Silver’s hair color?
If this was the case, that would mean that Silver’s hair is a reflection of both of his fathers, the two who love him tremendously. 🥹💞
Additionally, if magic/power/blessing is also passed down from their parents, that would mean that Malleus and Silver being as strong as they are is because of their parents 😭🥹
(Which, we know is already the case with Malleus because of his parents’ and Lilia’s love and magic)
Faes and Humans are not so different after all. They just want their loved ones safe and happy.
It is any wonder then? That it will be Silver and Malleus, who were so cherished by their parents and raised by a certain fae, who would bridge that gap? The ones who will truly bring peace between the races. (Something that Lilia also worked so hard on?)
Book 7, I truly adore your message about love, forgiveness, and change. 🥹💞💚🙏

ON THE LOW just realized what Sebek is describing here is Knight of Dawn's life... OGMG... 😭😭😭😭 not him being disrespected as a king (i feel like at the end the humans followed Henric and not Dawn and thats why they got a disagreement on the land leading to the war inside the Kingdom of Swords), being used as a knight, and also was hated as a child (as per this upbringing described by Sebek)... DAWN.... 😭😭😭😭
imagining that Dawn wasnt taught about anything about faes, only that he must kill them, yet he still dream to understand them even if the Silver Owls forced him to be ignorant and subservient to their selfish greed 😭😭😭✨✨✨

TWST FIC: 'Her Devoted Shield' - Chapter 4
Oooh LAWDY, I realized as I was wrapping up this chapter that I hadn't updated the story in about a month. Hopefully this chapter was worth the wait lol.
For some reason Tumblr isn't letting me just post the chapter text here so, I'm just gonna leave a link to the AO3 post instead:
WARNING: The boys are going through it. Hell everyone is kinda going through something in this chapter lol. A big reason this chapter took a minute is because it became a catharsis dump for certain characters lol.
I have some thoughts which I'm putting under a read more cut so as not to spoil anything. But first, tagging peeps. If you'd like to be included on the taglist or even removed, lemme know
@foxwitchaine @wysteriadelights @iscarlettappel @nuitthegoddess @victoria1676 @aiimee9 @1ndigowitch @valy-gc @yunaemiya
Ok so
*teleports entire Draconia bloodline into therapy*
Holy Tap Dancing Jesus 🤣
Real talk, I almost deleted over half of this chapter (aka the parts where Malleus pops off with major ‘tude to his entire support system) but looking back, I’m glad I didn’t. Because-*mooshes together the canon with her fanon*
This man had a cataclysmic meltdown because he felt like he was losing Lilia, who basically raised him, and he couldn’t handle it due to childhood trauma that was never dealt with.
Then he was kicked out of the one place where he could have just enough freedom to simply be Malleus the fae who loves gargoyles and his Drago tamagotchi, who sucks at social cues and technology, who could finally enjoy life a bit and is immediately isolated from everyone and everything in his own home for five years. Which isn’t a long time for fae, arguably. Even so imagine pulling a stunt like that with consequences that take everything away from you and shoves you back into the lonesome hole you finally escaped from. It SUCKS. It’s soul crushing…however, actions have consequences. And now he’s being taken off of his probation only to realize “Oh wait, I’m still trapped and out of control.” With, again, more unresolved trauma.
I don’t condone Malleus’s choices he made/is making in the game canon. I don’t even agree with how he treats the people around him in this chapter that I wrote. But taking everything into account…hell yeah he’d be angry!
You bet your ass he’d snap under pressure and lash out! I’d be more concerned if he didn’t. So yeah, I left it in because I wanted Malleus to be able to vent and to also get closure cuz dayum he needs it, Grandma Draconia needs it, and frankly his overworked cousin needs it too.
Honestly I got to the part where Malleus is popping off to Borlean and originally they were just gonna have a heated argument but then…my love for Godzilla movies kicked in once I realized they’re both powerful dragon boys and I was like
“LET THEM FIGHT.” …but only a little 😂 saving the intense violence for later.
On a completely different note: Lilia and Tai-Yang…they got some history 👀☕️ which I’ll be getting into in the next chapter. I’m dealing with all the drama right now, no slow burn 😂 until later cough

Vil: *is not amused by MC's decision to visit him in Pomefiore. Moreover, after elegantly and gracefully subduing the students who tried to stop them, he had no choice but to let them in*
Vil: I trust you won't waste my time with such pointless requests.
MC: You're the only person I could think of who can do it safely, since your ability requires specific conditions to be met.
Vil: *frowns* Who told you that?
MC: I received the information from a reliable source.
Vil: Azul.
Vil: ...I see. Unfortunately, we're neither friends nor close acquaintances. I don't grant favors simply because someone asks.
MC: The acting skills of the actors in your Film Studies Club need improvement.
Vil: What did you say?
MC: I watched your members practice, and they came across as nothing more than wannabe protagonists.
Vil: ...
MC: ...
Vil: They are inexperienced because they have never had real acting work.
MC: Even so, you are a professional actor and model, although you may lack experience as an acting mentor.
Vil: ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVOKE ME?!
MC: That is not my intention.
MC: In fact, I can provide suggestions for enhancing the acting skills of your actors, especially since you mentioned that my acting skills are superb. *smiles*
Vil: ...
Vil: The last time, they didn't react negatively when I rejected them at the audition. So why are they bothering me now?
Vil: ...
Vil: Alright, I will permit you to be an acting mentor, but only for a week.
MC: That's more than enough time. In return, once you see improvements in your actors, will you finally grant me the favor I'm asking for?
Vil: Yes.
MC: Then we have a deal.
Rook: Roi du Poison, you chose MC as the acting mentor for your club? *genuinely surprised*
Vil: I know. A bad decisio—
Rook: Non! You certainly made the right choice!
Vil: *raised an eyebrow* How so?
Rook: Chevalier des Roses has been praising them because the Heartslabyul students have been behaving exceptionally well around MC.
Vil: The Pomefiore students aren't fans of them, Rook—Hold on a moment.
Vil: ...
Vil: *squints his eyes at Rook*
Vil: Are you...?
Rook: ...
Rook: *cheerful* Oui!
Vil: *facepalm*
Sebek: MC-sama! You shouldn't offer your help to commoners like them!
MC: ...
MC: Don’t most of the students from Pomefiore come from distinguished families?
Sebek: Yes, but you are still above them!
MC: ...
MC: Sebek, I don't think I need to worry about the class system since I don't have the prominent traits of the Draconia clan.
Sebek: MC-sama...
Lilia: *appears* Oho~ That's not true at all.
Lilia: Only ignorant fools would believe you don't come from a noble lineage.
Lilia: Because just look at you~!
Lilia: You're adorable and sweet! Just like Maleanor before she turned into a menace.
Sebek: L-Lilia-sama!
MC: ...
Lilia: *knows that they're planning something*
MC: Would you be let down if I turned out like my grandmother?
Lilia: *chuckles* Not at all.
Lilia: But surely, you'll let me see how this unfolds, right?
MC: *smiles apologetically*
Lilia: Aww... No?
Jamil: *feels satisfied that MC seems to be becoming more open with Kalim*
Jamil: I knew it. They may seem reserved, but they're genuinely naive at heart.
Jamil: *reviews the document he prepared to position himself as the new dorm leader of Scarabia once Kalim leaves NRC*
Jamil: My parents can't blame me because the world is dangerous for Kalim, and I can't always protect him.
Jamil: *couldn't help but smile*
Jamil: Soon, I will be saying farewell to you, Kalim.
MC: ...
MC: *with a serious expression* It appears you believed you had this all planned out, Jamil Viper.

Wait this is actually interesting, so from what the story implies, Wild Rose Castle is weaker than Black Scale Castle because it probably has no magical atmosphere that serves as its defense, there's probably fewer troops here, and the fact that its just on a clear meadow makes the terrain not suitable for defenses unlike Black Scale who is atop a mountain and covered in a Valley.
So I kinda think that Wild Rose Castle is a newly built castle in Briarland. After all, Meleanor was a kid only 200 years ago so Wild Briar is probably that age as well (or more), i think that age is young (compared to Black Scale which probably several centuries old?) thats why it has weaker defense facilities.
Maybe Wild Briar is older as Black Scale, but this game says this is Meleanor's castle so I assume she's the one who had built this.
But I have this HC that this castle is actually built because of Levan. For his diplomatic mission between humans. Building a castle in an easy terrain would make sense to make it easier for magicless humans to transport in. Because I don't really expect(?) Maleanor who is a military commander, which she probably has knowledge of strategies, to not see how disadvantegous this location is considering its close to humans
But I also think Wild Briar was built as like a refuge for the faes that live far away outside Dragon City(I wont call it dragonopolis lol)
Wild Rose being a few centuries old also kinda makes sense since the Silver Owls only recognize Meleanor as the only ruler in Briarland, they probably arent aware theres a queen named Maleficia because she's ancient(?) atleast I didnt caught any silver owls mentioning her iirc(?) They went to the mountains near Dragon city yes-- but like it was to pursue General Lilia and not to besiege Black Scale as well even they kinda had the potential to do so since they took down Maleanor and Silver Owls' is implied to be very greedy--
I actually think its more interesting to not summarize Maleanor's cause of death as just her overestimating her win against Knight of Dawn-- I actually think its because of several reasons such as:
"Wrong time" in working out the diplomatic relations between the conflict between humans and faes, Levan's plan to educate wasn't pointless effort, but I wish the story states as well what he did to counter the fact that the faes hates humans not because of a misunderstanding, but because of their mistreatment towards faes(the story literally implies rhe humans kills faes meanwhile we have yet to see a royal guard fae that killed humans the story only tells us they chased them away), Levan does this when its clear that the Silver Owls was getting hostile, like objectively speaking, this was kinda not the right time to communicate and Meleanor was the receiving end of the build up hostility of the Silver Owls
This is kinda countering my first point, but Meleanor's decisions was kinda weird too in the story lol, why send your best Generals to the enemy fortress.... 😭💥 But I actually think this is interesting as well, because its likely a reference to the wars in LiveAction Maleficent... I remember watching that movie especially Maleficent 2: Mistress of Evil and just wondering why the Moors never plans (and even if they do its very simple, just charge in and overpower the enemy with strength), they just charge in instead of treating it "like a chess" where you save your best pieces in dangerous situations and everyone has a role in dispelling the enemy. They also hold this belief that only the strong ones would guarantee their success and heavily relies on them. Meanwhile, Queen Ingrid used deception and control to subdue all the faeries. Like Meleanor/Faes vs Humans, the faes never thinks about what the human enemy plans, they rely on raw dodging it lol probably alluding to the fact that the faes have trouble thinking like a human.
And lastly this point lol, poor choice of headquarters, the terrain is easy for humans to invade in, and the castle is still weak, also the fact that Wild Briar was alone in fighting several human nations was a factor as well because it couldnt get back up in time because it was too far away from Black Scale Castle, kinda adding Wild Briar was outnumbered too atp

Malleus Facts Part 1: Family (pt1)
We will occasionally hear information about Malleus’ sole blood relative, his grandmother.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We learn she has impressed upon him that barging in somewhere uninvited is the height of rudeness, taught him that humans often fear them, told him tales of the Scalding Sands (“But we haven’t heard much about the country since things became peaceful here”), and more.
Malleus mentions receiving cufflinks, cards and rose seeds for his birthday, saying that he cannot help but admire her thoughtfulness.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malleus says that Lilia and his grandmother are the only people who ruffle his hair in a certain way.
He says “having siblings seems rather complicated” after discussing their families with Trey and Cater, but follows with, “one should treat their family with respect.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Malleus also says his childhood was so long ago that he can barely remember any of it now.
In an extremely rare reference to his parents, Malleus wonders if they, his grandmother and Lilia toiled in the hopes of giving their descendants a happy, peaceful life.
Sebek says that while his grandfather has shared many tales of heroics about the Draconia family and Lilia, they never spoke much about Malleus’ mother Maleanor, or about how Malleus’ parents died:
“I've read many books to gain a greater understanding of Briar Valley and our ruler…but hardly any of them touched upon such topics.”
In Book 7 we learn that Maleanor was the princess of the Land of Briar 400 years ago (before it became Briar Valley).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Maleanor was his grandmother, Maleficia’s, only child and a key figure in the country’s defense, as commander of the royal guard.
Lilia describes Maleanor as so powerful that the rest of them combined would not stand a chance against her:
“She's also unruly, quick to start fights, selfish, and irascible...not to mention incredibly spiteful. Lady Maleanor is Briarland's most menacing figure.”
Lilia says she'd complain about food, refusing to eat jerky when they were children until Raverne stewed it for her:
“And of course she fawned over Raverne all the while, making passive-aggressive remarks like, ‘You're the only one I can depend on.’ ...maybe that's where the difference between him and me lies. And here I was the one to actually bring the food.”

i am confused
Tumblr media
Making this its own separate post + expanding on it so it doesn’t get lost in the quagmire that is the book 7 part 8 update 💀
Feel free to let me know your own thoughts or theories too, I’m just rambling here.
***Spoilers below the cut!!***
So like… Is anyone else confused as to how Silver can use his UM Meet in a Dream so many times with NO ONE making a comment about how he's building up a considerable amount of blot???????
Vargas Camp seems to suggest that using one's UM typically uses up a considerable amount of magic compared to a non-UM spell. (The boys felt it would be dangerous to cast UM without at least a sizable magestone.) This is not true of all UMs though; Kalim's Oasis Maker, for example, allows him to offer up a small amount of magic to produce a great amount of water. So let's say for argument's sake that Silver's UM is similar to Kalim's and does not require a ton of magic per use. (Edit: this detail is confirmed true in the recent update.)
But??? That still doesn't make a ton of sense???? Silver was in constant battles against Silver Owls while in Lilia's dream, meaning he is physically being chipped away at. No matter how physically fit, capable, or well-trained he is, Silver is only human and his stamina and perseverance has its limits. He also suffered immense emotional distress in Lilia's dream after realizing that he is the son of the man who killed Malleus's mother ON TOP of having doubts that he is worthy of Lilia's love AND fixating on how no matter how hard he tries, he can never truly "pay back" his father. I guess it can be argued that the pixies healed them on their trek (+ there was that one scene where Lilia and co. rest in a Silver Owls camp) and that Silver "got over" his feelings after Sebek shouted at him about how much Silver is loved... Even then, that's not really a good explanation??? Silver climbed up those daunting mountains surrounding Castle Blackscale--mountains which have oppressive magic that harms humans. This is POST-pixie encounter, so he'd still be walking in with damage from that, not to mention the blow of lightning magic he took from Maleanor???? I'd also think that while Sebek's pep talk (well, pep shout) helped clear Silver's head, it wouldn't invoke a sudden character change on the spot; Silver would no doubt still have lingering feelings and would need time to properly sort them out and reconcile with them. They haven't been addressed in full yet, at least not until Silver can like get some closure on his own terms, maybe by sitting down and talking with Lilia about everything they learned. (That's definitely a topic for post book 7 though.) Now think about how many times Silver is expected to use his UM. At minimum, he has already used it 4 times (to show up in Yuu's dream, then to hop into Sebek's dream, then Lilia's, then Idia's). In the most recent update, Silver has used it no less than an additional 4 times (to jump from Idia's dream to Epel's, then to Rook's, then to Vil's, then to presumably a Scarabia boy's which is where the next update will likely pick up). THAT'S ALREADY 8 TIMES????? And he has like 11 or 12 more dreams to visit, including having to jump back to Idia’s dream and then prep for fighting Malleus???? It's like 20 times Silver is expected to use his UM, with very little down time in between because... oh yeah, TWISTED WONDERLAND IS ABOUT TO HAVE ETERNAL NAP TIME IF THEY DON'T HURRY TF UP 🤡 That's not even mentioning the increased loads each time Silver casts his UM (since they're collecting students like Pokemon to gang up on Malleus). If previous UMs imply anything, more people should make it more difficult to pull off a spell. Ruggie had to use a magic-enhancing potion to control a whole statium, Cater is strained the more clones he creates at any given time. Jamil's hypnosis magic cast upon a group causes him to accumulate blot so much faster. Shouldn't this be a major concern for Silver??????? Should I be concerned for Silver????????
Don't get me wrong, I love that we're able to dream hop and see what each of the main cast characters are dreaming of, but 💦 I don't know if I should be worried or not about Silver's health???????? Because I could see why the devs would just hand wave it off in this instance (cuz how else are they going to travel to each dream and save the world? They're kind of on a time crunch here...), but at the same time I can see it going the other way and sort of breaking immersion?? Unless this is all intentional and they're going to jumpscare us with a Silver OB or him struggling against it later in book 7 💀 (I mean... the guy hasn't gotten his limited SSR for book 7 yet, so maybe it'll be related to this???)
Or is it just possible for him to break the limits of his magic since this is a dream...? We’ve seen other characters OB at will and be able to seemingly stay rational while in that form... but if that's the case, then why does Silver still feel tired and physically worn down in Lilia's dream after fighting so much? Why do they worry about taking too many hits and actually dying within the dreams? Can't he theoretically stay at "perfect" health after using his magic so much???
Does it not count as using “real” magic since they’re in a dream and therefore have much more flexibility in how they spellcast?? Or is it that it’s their dream!selves casting so it’s not real magic since it’s not their physical forms spellcasting…? Is blot accumulation slowed since Silver is technically sleeping and rest helps with healing from blot?? But then how does that impact their real bodies if at all?
I DON'T KNOW, I'M CONFUSED OTL

the dawn knight in place of yuu
MAJOR JP BOOK 7 SPOILERS
(anyway i like calling him the knight of dawn but also thats too many words for a name im going to be repeating a lot throughout this post so dawn knight)
okay so. i was thinking about a fic to write where a character had a part of themselves appear somewhere else? like ive been getting into omniscient reader but i have a diff story im trying to commit to rn so i cant really write something with it when i dont really know shit that happens besides like end game spoilers lOl
but i find the idea of like the 49/51 (?) interesting? i think thats the right numbers. no context to people who dont know what that means but that part broke me even though all i know about omniscient reader is by reading a shit ton of orv fanfiction. my heart man... sob.
but so anyways my mind wandered to the dawn knight
kudos to that like one fic where the dawn knight's soul appeared and attached itself to yuu except i read it when i didnt even know who he was but i thought maybe he was a buddy of lilia so im just reading and getting confused on like no why you no like lilia what (also he doesnt remember iirc and i think that was just like a instinctual feeling cause yknow humans vs fae??) but uh i know context now lMFAO
but like
just imagine this person who looks like silver but blonde. who doesnt remember who he is (as hes kind of more of just a fragment of his soul? but like he appears in NRC and not RSA because he still has a lingering attachment towards silver. wanting to see him grow because he never got the chance to)
who worries over silver
is a little nervous around fae, but maybe this is ooc but like without all the pressure from what the fuck was his name henrik(??) and like the people around him who are all anti-fae, cause he wouldve liked it if they couldve been in peace and stuff yknow? and also without those memories so its not too difficult for him to get past that and see them as people who will probably not harm others (LOOK i just want twst characters to be happy man cause everything is so sad :((( )
anyway lilia has grown since then and doesnt hate humans. maybe he doesnt exactly know how to feel about the dawn knight (UM like cause meleanor. or is it maleanor? i think thats EN spelling but tbh if not for en i wouldnt know how tf to spell it. but uh ykNOW.. he kinda. uh. still killed.)
but then maybe it becomes clear that this dawn knight (who needs an actual name. dawn sounds too on the nose and i dont think lilia associates dawn with positive feelings considering when maleanor died didnt it turn dawn or something. and then they broke down because shes DEAD.???)
is not the same dawn knight he met so long ago.
like
idk
think about it in like a. okay im pulling out honkai star rail examples now. but think of it maybe like dan feng and dan heng where they're like reincarnations of each other? but not the same person? (some people think of them as still the same considering i think(? its been a hot minute since i went through story) those memories of those reincarnations are then shared to other incarnations to help them in high elder duty thingy whatever its called but i think of them as entirely different people who happen to look similar)
i guess you could view it as a 'i once was [this], but now im this and im not the same person who did all those things'
EDIT: I AM WRONG. 2.5 spoilers but its mentioned that someone made dan heng remember his past life so its NOT canon that they remember their past life. "...led her to perform certain healing arts on Dan Heng, who had just finished his hatching rebirth, so that he would regain the memories of his past life?" but anyway thats how it turned out so uh just pretend that i mean reincarnating/past life type deal but stlil having some of those memories of the former life
idk maybe theres some lilia treating him as another son since like. all three of them are orphans who were taken in???? like its implied parallel of lilia being taken in by the mal... dRACONIA family sorry i forgot the last name om. and the dawn knight being taken in by the whoever is in charge. like the dad of henrik(?) and that person whose name i cant remember i think it was leah who the dawn knight liked and married? but so anyway they both got taken in by a family and owe them a debt and fight for them (and care for them. although idk about henrik ew, but he was also like. wanting princess glow(???) which could supposedly grant wishes i think to like cure their ill father, and saying that the dawn knight should do it for leah or something? i cant remember but he convinced him with something something leah)
i dont know where im going with this thought but like. i remember the dawn knight said something like. if things could be different? but like it cant be because they've gone too far now to forgive each other? but like he wanted there to be peace.
i remember thinking about lilia's wish in the wish upon a star event, maybe it was similar i cant recall exactly
Tumblr media
Lilia: My wish is... ...for humans, fae, and all other species to live in harmony. [Img of the wishing star] Trey: Haha, wow. That's a pretty ambitious wish. Lilia: To join joyous hands with one another is no simple feat, even for those among the same species... To say nothing of the difficulties across species divides. You've learned about our history, have you not? All the countless tales of our failure to compromise, and the resulting conflicts? I have no desire to see such history repeated. So I make the same wish every Starsending.
like the dawn knight expressed regret that it had to be this way and wanted things to change but it was far too late. but like. he never did that stuff now (well lilia will remember so poor grandpa but. he's also been really forgiving towards humans when doing it for someone? like he endures it? like when he was searching for a way to hatch malleus and these people were really against lilia for being fae when he just existed, and he didnt fight back because it would paint a bad picture for the draconias? there was another example related to silevr but i cant remember it im. not what i was thinking about but theres also when he contemplated killing baby silver but changed his mind because he'd been trying to teach malleus to like. 'walk in time with his neighbor' and so and so and i forgot what he said but that how could he do that when he should be like setting an example for malleus or something right?)
also silver learning who his parents are in a maybe less traumatic way (like NOT running away knowing malleus' mom might die and then oh shit the ceiling collapsed and IS THAT THE ENEMY oh god please dont let malleus' egg be hurt and then he shares the same face as me? and that ring-- cue silver hating himself and being dragged in by darkness and i am just sobbing my eyes out like no silver he loved you so much :((( )
and even if lilia still holds anything against the dawn knight. still has lingering feelings even towards this not-dawn knight. that he wouldnt want to condemn the dawn knight, and then have silver condemn himself for being of that blood even though he didnt even do anything yknow?
and then when lilia dies he can meet up with the ghosts of maleanor and raverne (is that spelled right? i genuinely cant remember the EN spelling but it was something like that. uhh.??) and i know thats sad but i want lilia to be able to spend more time with maleanor and raverne too yknow? but im not sure how to do that
maybe. like the. the the . council? i cant remember its name fshuidfh but those assholes who appeared when we made it to. blackscale(?) castle... ? i. forgor. maleficia(THATS GRANDMA RIGHT?? i get so confused by who is who in draconia) castle??
but like when we get there with malleus' egg and then maleanor dies
and theres just these voices of long dead old geezers who are bitches to lilia and i hate them and i dont know how they're still there and can talk but i dont want maleanor there because they're horrible. also they literally said her sacrifice was like noble or some shit like that and im just like BITCH- (also lilia is banned from the capital or something isnt he?? like i mean he can still visit the castle. but secretly. but still :( )
so i just think.
fully getting over stuff. heart demons. talking things out. lilia gets to talk about stuff for the first time in awhile (remember when like literally no one talked about the circumstances regarding malleus' birth or something so silver and sebek just had no idea what they were getting into??? and like i guess he could talk to baul? baur? idk which one is the one on EN i forgor. but idk man.)
not-dawn knight being a really good listener. being understanding, sharing his input where appropriate. and like he also gets some of his memories which put a lot of things into proper context. and so sharing thoughts of so and so. and just. basically this talk that spirals into moving on.
sharing frustrations, sharing things that never really got to be known.? like regrets, etc etc
since i think the last time they met was when silver father reveal, and time passed and he died so its just all these lingering things that never got to be said out loud for various reasons. like maybe because company is against so and so so to say something would be like idk maybe traitorous? i dont think thats the right word but words are hard and i keep forgetting words the moment i need them
its like. the unique point of view of talking about things between former enemies. like how they viewed things, etc etc
and then when lilias lived a full life, no regrets, he meets maleanor and raverne in the afterlife.
oh yeah also about his dorm i have no fucking idea. i honestly mostly forgot what each dorm represents but either ramshackle or diasomnia, which i know is like nobility or something? but anyway dawn knight married a princess, also i associate diasomnia with fae / briar valley which is related considering hes book 7 stuff so im pushing him there anyway
or maybe the mirror cant read him because his soul is fragmented. or maybe retcon and his soul isnt like that? idk but i like to think the other part of his soul is in the afterlife with his wife yknow? and eventually silver will be there and able to meet his mom and huggies, and acknowledging that these are who his parents are, but also that lilia is also his parent and the one who raised him yknow? there can be more than two parents in my eyes.
its just that his soul is like in half because of the part of him that wants to have seen silver grown. i think i said this earlier in the post but that since the last time he saw silver was as an infant (also he had blonde hair so-)
also wasnt infant silver asleep for like hundreds of years until it was either because someone who loved him came by (lilia) or because the spell finally wore off (which is what lilia thinks. i dont know where to put my two cents at tbh of which i think is right)
so dawn knight just sitting there in the afterlife like. ..man. my childs still not here. i mean. thats a good thing that they're not dead but like. i kinda wanna see them.
or well silvers the only one so i should be saying he but gidfhuj
also it was either leah or leia i am a dumbass? maybe leah was the EN one. idk i forgot.
anyway thats enough yapping for me

After reading a translation by Yuu Rei on twitter, I’ve been thinking about Book 7 and how this could potentially end. I know there’s been a lot of discussion of how this may need to be ended with a peaceful resolution since Malleus is so powerful and/or Idia’s plan is looking too much like Henrik’s very successful take down of Maleanor. Personally, I actually want to see Idia’s plan succeed to a degree and think it would be fun to defend why.
I’ll link it for reference here if you want to read the thread too: https://x.com/yuurei20/status/1672514883215331328?s=46
1. I personally would find it narratively fitting. History repeats itself when no one learns from it, and it was a previously mentioned lore tidbit that fae history is not well known among humans. And let’s be honest, anything that does exist on the human side for history would not be completely truthful on what happened with Maleanor if her fate is even mentioned. There has also been a lot of buildup with how overblots are dangerous to the health/wellbeing of the overblotter, and using Malleus to pay it off would both parallel Maleanor’s fate and nerf him for Book 8. A necessary action in order for the plot to not be immediately solved by Malleus’s ridiculous might.
2. I think it works with Malleus’s portrayal so far. He does have his good moments and traits, but I haven’t forgotten his tendencies to steamroll the opinions and perspectives of others. Take the Spectral Soirée for example, when Malleus decides to freeze time and kidnap a significant part of the student body simply because he sees himself in the lonely ghosts. No concern whatsoever for harm to his classmates or how it would look for an entire chunk of the student body to suddenly go missing. Or his dorm uniform vignette, where Malleus remains stubbornly insistent that it is the fault of the other housewardens or circumstance that he does not attend the meetings despite very reasonable measures to remind him having already been taken. Followed by a complete disregard for what’s polite/acceptable by summoning the other housewardens using magic reserved for objects because he doesn’t want to miss another meeting. The point I’m making here is that a massive rebellion like Idia gathering up his peers may be what it takes to get through to Malleus that what he is doing is not acceptable behavior just because he was afraid of Lilia leaving and didn’t want to be alone.
3. The last two books set a precedent for the shift from teaming up with solely the current and previous dorm to defeat an overblot to joining forces with students across various dorms. Combining that with the opportunity to build characters further by showing the NRC boys being capable of working together it would make sense for the big overblot battle to involve the other cast members like Idia’s plan intends to.
But I’m also kind of Malleus hater so take it all with a grain of salt. - 🦐
I am also kind of a Mallues hater and think his relationship with Yuu kind of gets overplayed by the fandom to an annoying extent at the cost of the character development and friendship of all other characters in the game by the English speaking fandom. In fic anyway, in game I appreciate him for what he is specifically for reasons like this, he's an interesting character.
I sort of disagree about Idia's plan looking too much like Henrik's take down of Maleanor. It might look like that on the surface to a fae who was there at the time but there is a big difference between Maleanor defending her territory and her child and the temper tantrum Malleus is throwing. To compare the two is disingenuous at best, which is why it is so narratively fitting that they might go down the same way.
I sort of get the sense that what happened is lost history because the fae eventually destroyed the human kingdom/ the kingdom destroyed itself. There is a reason Silver is an orphan and the fae keep to themselves. In a way Briar Valley seems sort of bad at history education? Which makes sense in a weird way, if you don't reproduce often and everyone lives for an age you sort of just expect to remember things and you don't always think to explain important stuff to kids. The point about needing to nerf Malleus for Book 8 is such a good fucking take I would be so surprised if the health complications angle didn't come up. I wonder if the consequences are worse for fae due to them being made of magic?
Malleus does seem to understand that his power is great and that it is meant to be used to bring people happiness... he just does not seem to see other people as. Well. People nor does he seem to understand the concept of dreams. In a way the ideals of someone like Azul are completely foreign to him because he's never had to work to be good at anything he's needed to do. Sure he might like learning to do mundane things like use a washer and dryer, but he doesn't need to do it and that's the only reason why he likes it. If he had to do it every day he would find that exhausting so yes, this plan does seem like the only way to get through to Malleus. He needs to realize he is treating people not like his subjects but his toys, just because Sebek is ok with that doesn't mean everyone else is.
Agree. I feel like the real threat in Twisted Wonderland, whatever it is, will need every student to work together in order to face it and not just a handful of students from one or two dorms. We still need to find out what's up with Grim and Crowley... and RSA if we're lucky!

SSR Sebek Zigvolt - Armor of Eternal Night Voice Lines
Armor of Eternal Night Sebek does not have a vignette
Tumblr media
When Summoned: In order to be someone worthy of being my liege's right-hand man, I must grow stronger and improve myself even further.
Summon Line: I must conduct myself properly so as to not bring any shame to this armor. I will certainly be of use to everyone!
Groooovy!!: I will demonstrate a fighting prowess worthy of both this mask and the Zigvolt name!
Home: Don't be late, human!
Swap Looks: Here I vow on the pride of the Royal Guard!
Home Idle 1: I deeply regret not noticing the pain that my lord was feeling. From here on out, I swear to not overlook any minute details, and strive to serve him even better.
Home Idle 2: How lucky am I to be able to witness with my own eyes Lilia-sama during his time as the Royal General of the Right! I'll never forget the sight!
Home Idle 3: It is a little unsettling that Silver doesn't just suddenly fall asleep anymore. I know that this is what should be considered normal, but... It just feels odd.
Home Idle - Login: Designs that have been passed down within Briar Valley since long ago have been worked intricately throughout this armor. From the bottom of my heart, I am honored to be able to wear this.
Home Idle - Groovy: My grandfather is the one who instilled in me the joy of reading. I still cherish every single book he has ever given me.
Home Tap 1: The young master had always said that Lilia-sama is terrifying when enraged... And now I see his expression is just as intense as I had heard.
Home Tap 2: My grandfather showed some concern for my puffy eyes. It seems like he's always balanced his strictness with compassion, even in his youth.
Home Tap 3: I cannot believe that I never even considered thinking about how my liege was before he was born until it was brought up... What an absolute blunder!
Home Tap 4: Her power is so immense that even Lilia-sama and the rest of the royal guard could not possibly win against her, even if they stood up to her all as one... I wouldn't have expected anything less from Maleanor-sama, my lord's esteemed mother!
Home Tap 5: I cannot believe you'd let him try to take his meals before the members of the guard have had the opportunity... You haven't disciplined Grim at all, whatsoever!
Home Tap - Groovy: You're much too weak. Even while marching you quickly look so exhausted... I suppose I'll just have to train you myself one of these days!
Duo: [SEBEK]: Time to go on the offensive, Ortho! [ORTHO]: Sebek-san, I have your back!

Do you guys ever think about Lilia and how he was changed during those 200 years? All the unconditional love he has? And how that was possible because of Malleus?
Lilia wouldn’t be the Lilia we know today if it wasn’t for that time of his life.
He had nothing left. His childhood friends gone. No title. Banished. He was walking aimlessly in life without any purpose
But then he was given a purpose.
He came back not as General Vanrouge but just Lilia Vanrouge.
He has a purpose now and his purpose was Malleus. A reason for him to live.
The very thing Maleanor wanted of him, for not only Lilia to live but also her son. Be each other's purpose.
Lilia traveled, he constantly looked for ways to hatch Malleus, and he changed during these travels and opened his eyes to humans.
Lilia learned and changed and loved and it was all because of that little egg.
He wasn't willing to do that before when he was General Vanrouge, but Malleus became his reason to live and his hope.
He would return to that egg and talk to him, tell him stories, he would rest next to that egg, and he would let his guard down because Malleus was his constant and his rest/peace.
Malleus showed Lilia that he could love, without him, Lilia would have always been that stubborn headed General thinking he didn't need a family, children were a hassle, etc.
Lilia learned that he could love because of him. It gave him peace and hope in a way he hadn't had it before.
Lilia learned the joys of cooking and enjoying food with a loved one. He put more effort to learning and expanding his knowledge so he could see him smile.
He learned and taught Malleus instruments to spend time with him. He learned the joys of running after a baby who threw tantrums and sneaking him cotton candy.
The joys of helping dress a child and feeding him. He sought for peace because of Malleus and wanted him to be free and get along with his human neighbors.
He chose to raise Silver because of him because he wanted to be a good example of what he taught. In return, this allowed him to expand his horizons and not just get along with humans but love them too (and through these actions, so did Malleus learn as well). He went to NRC because he wanted to be able to spend time with his family and expand their relationships and connections.
He wanted a family and he got that because of Malleus.
He wanted Malleus to learn and get along with humans, to have friends. Give Malleus the same love and experience that Malleus taught him even before he was born.
And Malleus? Malleus loved Lilia even before he was born. He reached out to him, rejected his grandmother’s magic, lived, and threw a tantrum because of how much he loves Lilia.
After he was born, from the stories we hear, you can see how much Malleus continues to love Lilia. Recalling fond memories as mentioned before, taking care of Silver because that would make Lilia happy, learning and getting along with humans for Lilia, always heeding and taking to heart everything Lilia says, wanting to make him proud, sneaking away to see him, etc.
Malleus literally did everything for Lilia that Lilia did for him.
Malleus gave Lilia love, peace, and hope for the present and future and Lilia returned that as well.
Lilia wants Malleus to learn, so even when Lilia isn't here anymore, Malleus will always have this love with him. The same love he gave Lilia.
So, in the future, Malleus will always have this cherished feeling with him.
He won’t be lonely anymore, like how General Vanrouge wasn’t lonely anymore because of that special little egg.
I think about this love between them and feel so soft 😭💞 always thinking about the other and loving each other so.

Briar Valley's low population has me thinking. "What if Fae in general just aren't very fertile? What if they just don't like sex?" But then again they say children are very precious to them and that they are a blessing. Then again Mrs. Zigvolt with her three children in the span of 2~3 fae equivalent years (20-30 years) exists.
So in Disney fashion, it's possible that Fae might adhere to the Chosen Mates trope popular in fae fiction. Lilia has never had any bastard children even though he's travelled all around the world for centuries and is described as rather attractive in-game. Could it be that he's never been interested in romance nor intimacy after (possibly) Raverne and Maleanor? It could be that he's just Aroace of course, but it's also possible that he doesn't want to choose a mate, because Jack did mention in Ace's Groom vignette that soulmates exists in Twisted Wonderland. And we can't forget Maleficia of course. We see that the Draconias might be the last dragons in Twisted Wonderland, yet she's never shown any effort nor interest to save their dying species after her husband's death. We don't know if this applies to all fae in general, but we have one proof at least that dragon fae might bond for life.
I really find the mates trope fitting for them. In biology, while a lot of animals don't really have a concept of monogamy because they need to breed as much as possible, long-lived animals like humans do because it takes a lot of time and energy to raise their young safely. Most birds are also monogamous because eggs need to be guarded as closely as possible. So since Fae are long-lived, some may hatch from eggs, and they value children as wonderful blessings, I think it's safe to assume that they're romantic in nature and value a tightly-knit, loving family like the Zigvolts do.

Crack theory time
Imagine if Maleanor was the mother of Baul's daughter aka Sebek's grandmother
tiny spoilers for book 7 below
Since her pregnancy doesn’t work the same way as a human’s, it wasn’t difficult.
She just laid an egg - let’s say crocodilian faes also hatch from eggs - and gave this egg to Baul to keep warm. Or Baul gave it to Lilia, who had already moved to the forest at this point after being banished from the capital and Lilia looked after the egg because Baul was too busy with Royal Guard job.
That’s why Sebek never mentioned his grandmother - because Mrs. Zigvolt never knew her mother. Baul just said she was killed in war. Which is true, but he didn’t specify how.
It also makes more sense why Baul hates humans so much. It’s too personal in this case.
So basically, this makes Sebek and Malleus relatives :)
